#1 CLASSIC CARAMELINGREDIENTS:
2 packages (14 oz each) of soft caramels
8 Granny Smith or other tart apples
2 tbsp water
2 tbsp heavy cream
8 sturdy sticks DIRECTIONS:
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil coated with non-stick cooking spray. Insert the sticks in the top of the apples.
2. Unwrap caramels and place in small saucepan with 2 tbsp water. Melt over low heat, stirring frequently, for 8-10 minutes.
3. Once smooth, stir in 2 tbsp cream and reduce heat to low. Working one at a time, dip the apples in the hot caramel, spooning caramel over the apple. Roll in toppings, if using.
4. Place on prepared baking sheet and refrigerated for 1-2 hours, until firm.
